About Me

My name is Fay Sherwood and I am originally from rural Saskatchewan, Canada. I take great joy in helping others live healthy and creative lives. My mother used to call me Fairy and the name stuck, so Fairy’s Creations is me!

Being raised on a farm, during the winter months when the harvesting work was done, my family would spend time creating.  I had various people in my life who contributed to my love for and knowledge of art; My mother taught me the art of crafting and sewing, my father would draw horses for me on small note pads to entertain me when I was young, and my aunt and  parents taught me skills in Ceramics.  I also had the privilege of taking private ceramic and painting lessons.  By the age of 15, I had become a well-known artist in my community. As a young adult, I taught oil painting and ceramic classes through Saskatchewan Community College while managing an Art and Craft Store.  I also designed, sewed, and painted clothing for children and adults.

In 1994 I moved to California, USA, where I completed my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.  For the past 20+ years I have used my knowledge of psychotherapy and art in my work with at risk families, and those suffering from different traumas. During my time living in the USA, I continued creating and teaching art, designing and sewing costumes for a New York Theatre Company, as well as painting backdrops for stage performances.

My husband and I moved to the UAE in 2016.  I currently teach Private Classes, Corporate Events, Paint & Sip Events, and Paint Your Way Events, and take orders for commissioned work.  I have participated in several  art exhibitions, currently I have a painting on display in the Sheik’s Sea Palace in Abu Dhabi, and in “The year of tolerance” exhibit at the Front of the Abu Dhabi Municipality Building.
